Access Lid Appreciation Foundation

The Access Lid Appreciation Foundation or A.L.A.F. for short has been founded.

I have decided to entertain myself by photographing what used to be called manhole covers but are called by many other names these days. Access portals? Access covers? Inspection covers? Maintenance access doors? Hole covers? Street Covers? Covers? Lids? Access and Egress points?
I am going to use Access Lids as that seems to be the best description.

I hope to encourage many others to do the same so that there will be a record of these important but sadly neglected important features of our lives.

Just think for a moment about where you grew up; if you go back today is it the same as when you left? No it won’t be, it will have been through many changes of house improvements, garden changes, trees having grown or gone, grass gone or regrown, pavements relaid, lamposts replaced. There is one constant though; in most places the Access lids for the various services running underground will still be in their original position, still being walked over and driven over after decades of existence and still fit for intended use. Don’t ignore them, record them for A.L.A.F. and post them on social media so they will live on forever.
For clarity do give a little information about where they are even if it’s only a city and put the month and year you took the photograph.

Green Taxes

We’re decorating again, well one of us is anyway. I was dragging my feet as I tend to do these days mainly because I can’t see much wrong at all with the dining room as it is. Any way as everyone knows, I am not in charge on these issues, it is well beyond my pay grade. So after an hour had passed I had finally removed the various wires and electrical devices that had the hidden cables. Without doubt it well take me half a day to put it all back fitted and working once again.

Today I have finally listened to the siren voices of those who keep shouting, “fix your power tariff now”, and have done so. There must be a catch in it somewhere mustn’t there?
I now just this evening read that there are whispers from government that they may withdraw the daft “Green Taxes” from power bills in order to stick it to the Labour Party who have said they will freeze prices if they get elected. We know a Labour Government would do no such thing as they pumped up power prices with the Green Taxes in the first place and are obsessed with saving the world from non-existent Catastrophic Climate Change, or tax and control scam in truth.
Any way; it seems that I may have done the wrong thing fixing my prices; sugar!

Global Warming/Climate Change
All I know for certain is that there hasn’t been any global warming for 16 years.
The Catastrophic Global Warming that was foretold before, and during, the ‘stop’ cannot be examined because the University of East Anglia has lost the data. So only they held it and they have lost it, unbelievable, truly unbelievable. We have to take their word for it that it was serious then, no science available.
All the warmist adherents of CAGW always portray warming as very bad if not terrible thing. Why are they so sure? There is no reason that I can see why it shouldn’t be good if not excellent news; if it was true.
It’s not about Green Issues nor saving the world is it? It’s about new regulations, control and taxation. It’s about creating a large statist control system.Snow

CAGW

Catastrophic Anthropological Global Warming

Hurrah for Global Warming

Hurrah for Global Warming

The International Panel on Climate Change have reported their latest opinions and to steal some one elses quote:
“It contains more advocacy than science”.

They have got it wrong yet again and as usual over egged the pudding. They had the opportunity to level the thing back to realism by admitting that their computer models were biased to a worse case scenario previously and have consistently shown catastrophic climate change when in fact there hasn’t been any for fifteen years.

A lot of posters are saying that it was never about climate change at all but was in fact a socialist/liberal scheme aimed to redistribute world wealth from the rich nations to the poorer ones while at the same time providing good careers for lots of well educated people and allowing the creation of lots of controlling new laws to keep the Big Government bandwagon rolling. What’s not to like the Warmists would say.
It fits what has been happening so well that I for one half believe it. This supports the otherwise illogical denial by warmists that they have got it very wrong.

Dangerous man

Dangerous man

The Chief constable of Durham has said that it is time Class A drugs were available on the NHS as the campaign to stop them has failed. In other news smokers are to be denied small, in surgery, procedures if they refuse to give it up.
Why are smokers punished so much but drug users needs are to be serviced by the same institution, the NHS?

I read today that Windows XP Operating System will not be supported after April 2014.
Anyone running on it after that date will be wide open to malware as no further updates will be issued.
It’s estimated that over 25% of the world will still be using it when its support folds.
What a strange and unfair way to conduct business. The knowledgeable people are recommending that people switch to Linux in the form of Ubuntu (whatever that is).

Agenda 21

Ever heard of ‘Sustainable Development’?
I have just found out that it is the ‘fluffy bunny’, ‘wolf in sheep’s clothing’, ‘iron fist in a velvet glove’  term for ‘Agenda 21’.

Back to the future

Back to the future

Agenda 21 is the 1992 UN declaration about saving the Earth from humanity by taking over the governance of the whole population of it.

————————
It is a Liberal control mechanism that  takes the tried and tested control protocols from both fascism and communism whereby a ‘Pol Pot’ system is gradually introduced. Where property is not in private ownership and an elite rule on everything.  It has become official policy the world over and the things it is doing are unbelievable.  Education is to be dumbed down because the uneducated use less resources than well educated people.  And if you look you can see it’s already well on its way in Britain. Every one’s use of resources is to be cut back little by little until we are all at ‘third world country’ level.  Think about fuel, power supply and water supply and evermore attacks on traditional housing floor areas to pack us all together.  This is Britain now.
When you read or worse say “Sustainable Development” this is where you are helping to take us all.
I will start to dig a little more and see what I can find.  In my heart I am hoping that it is a hoax but frighteningly; it seems not.

Who wrote Shakespeare?

Who wrote them?

Who wrote them?

Shakespeare was a nom de plume of someone but we don’t know who.

William Shakespeare the gentleman farmer from Stratford upon Avon was not the writer; I don’t think that he ever left Stratford but instead lived out a comfortable life as a well off farmer in that town.

Whoever wrote the plays under the nom de plume “William Shakespeare” was very knowledgeable about writing and about foreign countries and foreign culture.

Many have been put forward as the true author of the plays including the favourite, the Earl of Oxford, but none quite fit the bill.

I think it was a man called ‘Anthony Munday’ who was born 4 years before the farmer of  Stratford and died 17 years after him in 1663 at the age of 73 years.

If you search ‘Anthony Munday’ you will find much about him, so much in fact that it is nothing short of astounding that so little is known of William Shakespeare.

He was driven from an early age and rose through society to do many things including being a sort of James Bond type spy for the royal courts of England.  He wrote many works of plays and poetry and importantly, travelled the whole of Europe and became a polyglot.

Why he chose to write under the Nom de Plume William Shakespeare we don’t know but it may have been because he didn’t write Shakespeare on his own but with others. That’s a guess but it was kept separate from his other writings.  We do know that a play he wrote in cooperation with others was printed with ‘William Shakespeare’ as the author but then quickly withdrawn.

All this we know about a man who was Shakespeare’s contemporary. Where is all the detail for Shakespeare who was such a tour de force and so successful?

It is missing because although a man in Stratford had the same name it wasn’t him. It was a nom de plume wasn’t it.  It was someone else who wrote the works of Shakespeare and that someone else must have had a successful writing career in his own name; these skills don’t appear from nowhere do they?

Anthony Munday was the writer and is the Bard of London.

Horsey Windpump, Norfolk.

Horsey Windpump, Norfolk.

We are away on holiday at the moment. We had a 60s themed week in Great Yarmouth last week.  Normal days out but a show on every night in the Vauxhall rooms.  a fantastic week but tiring every night.

A busy sunny Saturday in July

A busy sunny Saturday in July

This week we have moved a hundred miles south to Bexhill on Sea.  We have only been here a day so haven’t done much at all yet but have plans to visit the Romney, Hythe and Dymchurch railway tomorrow.  The weather is the best for a long time. Very hot and very sunny.

What I learned today

Climate Change

Parched Earth

Parched Earth

So Tim Yeo now says he was wrong about climate change.

This is his view in 2009:
“The dying gasps of the deniers will be put to bed. In five years time, no one will argue about a man-made contribution to climate change.”

Now four years later he says this;

“Although I think the evidence that the climate is changing is now overwhelming, the causes are not absolutely clear. There could be natural causes, natural phases that are taking place.”

I don’t recall anyone saying that the climate wasn’t continually changing except for the quasi religious green adherents who insisted it wouldn’t be changing if it wasn’t for man made carbon. That climate change is ongoing and natural is exactly what us realists have been saying all along. So what are all the taxes about?

Where I am sat now in York it was under a mile of ice only 12 thousands years ago. The little ice age only finished around 1870. Perhaps it never finished at all and this is only a 150 year drift to warmth. It seems to me that it is becoming colder winter after winter these days.

The Earth and its people can live well in a warmer climate.  The people and animals cannot live on permanent thick ice.  It’s not warming that we should be worried about.

So when are the green taxes going to be stopped and paid back to us?

And the fees will be ...

And the fees will be …

I understand that the Freedom of Information Act is being tinkered with.  It is one of the positive things for democracy that have come out in recent years but Government departments, Local Authorities and East Anglia’s climate research unit (CRU) dislike it a lot, (can’t think why).  I cannot find the original source of it but Archbishop Cranmers blog says (on a tweet) that the ‘freedom of information act is set to become the bloody expensive information act’.  If you want to know anything in future it’s going to cost you.  That should put a stop to a lot of the diggers.  Democracy, don’t ye just love it.

My New Site

Well here we are, I have paid my money and bought a domain of my own.  It’s not too clear what I will use it for but I am bursting with ideas,  Sadly for a lot of readers it will be a bit parochial in that I live in Yorkshire in England and that will dominate the content.
